2019 was a shit show for me. I’m just going to be real honest about that right now. I don’t know if it’s because it was my first year in the “adult world”, or if God really needed to force me to grow and learn in ways I couldn’t have without certain lessons. Nonetheless, every twist and turn got my attention and sent me on a new path until I found myself at 2020’s door step, out of breath and ready to fight.

Setting Yourself Up for Success: How to Make 2019 Your Freaking Year

2019 is three days away, how crazy is that to say out loud? At the end of every year, my life really starts to slow down. December was a super crazy month for me; I graduated college, I went on a short vacation, I finished an internship. I’m currently enjoying my last “winter break” until my new job begins.

I am not very fond of seasons of waiting, but after thinking about it long enough and praying about it, I realized that this is actually a huge blessing and an opportunity to spend time with friends and family, to reflect on this past year, as well as write down my aspirations for the new year. Setting yourself up for success can look different for everyone, but I know deep down, 2019 is your freaking year.

Out with the Old: My Hopes & Dreams for ‘Called to be Fearless’

2018 has been stuffed full of changes, emotions, and self-discovery. I mean, there’s nothing more exciting than knowing I’m not the same person I was at the beginning of the year; I’ve seen the good, bad, and ugly this year and I am happy to say I’m on the other side of the bad and ugly for now. I have not exactly been a role model when it comes to simple living.

This is probably my third or fourth attempt at being a frugal minimalist, but what can I say, I was raised on shopping trips with my mom and grandma. I started this adventure a couple years ago when I moved into my third apartment and after I had dated minimalist traveler for a few months, and after surviving on everything I carried in my backpack for a week while I hiked through the mountains, I was intrigued by the idea of simple living.
