Having just graduated college with two internships under my belt and now settling into my post-grad career, I realized today I’ve been calling on experiences I gained in my internships to adjust to this new work life.

Internships are awesome for students; they offer experience not otherwise attainable to young adults still making their way to the graduation finish line (keep going, you can do it!) and they look bomb on a resume. I realized I learned a lot more than technical lessons, I learned some pretty valuable life lessons during my internships as well.

Setting Yourself Up for Success: How to Make 2019 Your Freaking Year

2019 is three days away, how crazy is that to say out loud? At the end of every year, my life really starts to slow down. December was a super crazy month for me; I graduated college, I went on a short vacation, I finished an internship. I’m currently enjoying my last “winter break” until my new job begins.

I am not very fond of seasons of waiting, but after thinking about it long enough and praying about it, I realized that this is actually a huge blessing and an opportunity to spend time with friends and family, to reflect on this past year, as well as write down my aspirations for the new year. Setting yourself up for success can look different for everyone, but I know deep down, 2019 is your freaking year.

Learning to Slow Down: Finding Space to Love Yourself During the Chaos of Your Life

Have someone ever said something to you randomly and you’re like, dang, I really needed to hear that today? Literally me today and it was great. I actually learned a little about myself today through a conversation with a close friend and it’s helped me work through a rough patch I’ve hit recently.

When something doesn’t work out in my favor, I tend to spin into a non-violent blind rage (if that makes sense). I immediately start to problem-solve by finding the next best thing before I can even think about the situation. I didn’t like my major, so I changed it right away with little thought. I went through a breakup, so I jumped right back on a dating site. I lost my job, so I sent out 100 job applications within an hour.
